Beware of mosquito in rainy season

Rainy season comes and please be extra alert on mosquito especially the breeding ground of aedes. If I were you, I will avoid the playground as that is the common mosquito breeding ground as the rubbish bin is collecting rain water and is a mosquito breeding ground.

It will be good to install the mosquito net at all your doors and windows which I did and it helps to bring down mosquito flying into my house. I used to have a lot of spider webs in my house before installing the mosquito nets but now is less. You know when there is source of food for spiders, there will be a lot of it in your house. Take care folks!

Two sides fencing who are going to lose?

After away for vacation for few days coming back to see a green ugly fencing in front of my house is an eyesore. Who want to be restricted to the public garden especially when it should be shared among residence.

The developer - Plenitude had started the conflict by selling or splitting the Phase 8 to Phase 8a and 8b for monetary gain. The resident associations try to resolve to have common middle ground solution but unfortunately no one want to give way. Each one want to be in control of his own area and do not want to compromise. Meeting after meeting was held as reported in the RA blog but the solution given seem to be a lose lose.

Solution given by MPS as mediator:

1. Dismantle the fencing and have a common exit at 8A and 8B exit serve as emergency exit- Perceived Win for 8A Lose for 8B
2. Build another fencing at 8A and 8B get to keep their guardhouse and mind your own business - Lose for 8A and Lose for 8B. This is what happening now.

The deadlock to me is simply due to both parties are not going to compromise to lose control and do not trust the other side of taking care of the security of Phase 8.

Both side propose the same solution which is the exit will be at 8A and 8B respectively. 8A argue that 8B exit is illegal and off course 8B is denying that they will not legalise the exit. I wonder to both RA's ask the residents opinion and jointly held an AGM to select a common RA for both 8A and 8B? Whoever win have responsibility to take care 8A and 8B and take rational decision on the legality of only one exit. Whoever lose shall take heed and support the winner and continue to serve the resident and may come back to the next AGM for a chance to serve.

That is the true democracy and serve without complaining not being paid a single cent.

Stray cats now....

Stray dogs are common but stray cats? I do not actually expect there will be stray cats in a well managed Taman but the thing is sometimes peoples are so irresponsible. Rearing pets is fine but letting it roam outside and poos at people house is irritating.

Beware of dogs and now......snakes

It is not long ago that I posted that beware of stray dogs in our Taman and now we have new problem SNAKES! So watch out because since the clearing of trees beside our Taman heading to Taman Mas, these creatures lost their home.

Snakes normally like to hide in wet and dark areas like under the trees, in the drain or big flower pots. So do not mistaken it as a piece of sticks when you saw one. Call the BOMBA if you saw one as many still do not know BOMBA are expert in catching snakes and yes it is their duty to catch snakes and not the wildlife department so do not call the wildlife department unless you saw a wild boar!

The Development Of A Child's Mind

A child that age 0-3 years old has a mind that is super absorbent and extremely active and some experts say is genius like. From age 3-6 it takes little effort, great potential and learning skill can be easily developed. But when a child reach the age of 6-8 years old, more work and effort will be required to develop the brain capabilities.

How do we maximize the learning potential of a child's mind during his most absorbent years that can help develop a lifetime enthusiasm and eagerness in learning? How do use games to educate children and create a learning environment that filled with joy, love and laughter? How do we equally develop the left and right brain in balance to achieve the best educational learning ability?

Glenn Doman is a child educational expert who pioneered in the learning and development of a child left and right brain in order to build his intelligence. Flash cards provide a strong image capture in a child's mind that in his subconscious mind, the image or words are in bedded in the mind with little effort. This flashing of image or words cards method, proven effectively develop and open a child's left and right brain at a very early stage when the brain is still at development stage when harming the normal development of a child's mind.

There are some videos from youtube on the right that show how powerful the Glenn Doman's method in teaching and aid in the development of a super genius. Hope all residents who have children enjoy the video.

Burning smell in the morning

Once awhile, I got this funny smell in the early morning before I go to work. Initially I thought someone is burning rubbish so early in the morning. Long before I moved in, someone who stayed here in Taman Putra Prima wrote in a forum saying that the factories nearby Taman Mas are releasing smoke at night. But surprisingly some residents at TPP are denying that bad smell ever existed.

Just the other day when I consulted doctor for my cough and cold, the doctor told me that she knew where the smell came from. She also stayed in Tmn Putra Prima and said that the smell is coming from the burning tyres. She claimed that the foreigners stayed here burned tyres to prevent mosquito. I wonder why she never complained to the authority when she witnessed the tyres burning.

In my short conversation with the doctor, I did not manage to ask her which part of TPP that the tyres burning came from, sigh....I suspect that it comes from the industry area at Taman Mas. If you guys are reading this please share your experience and put a stop on it. I can make a complain to MPS but must have proof. Shall I go ask the doctor instead.....

Beware of dogs!

Just yesterday we read a sad news whereby a jogger was killed by a Pit bull dog at Subang Jaya. This poor man never thought that having jogged in his own housing area for the past 20 years will meet such a tragedy. Just over the weekend I saw some of the residents are bringing out their dogs for walk at the taman and some do not even have the dog chained and let them roam free.

My wife encountered an incident not long before that being followed by a dog from the playground back to her house. Luckily nothing untoward happened. I wish and hope dog owners and dog lovers always keep an eye on your pets and if you let them out of your house please make sure that it is not unchained. You never know when and how the dogs will behave. I think no one from us will wish to read another news of dog killer anymore. Dogs are men best friend and not nightmare.

Shocking Majlis Perbandaran Sepang letter

Today I am shocked to receive a letter (unsealed and no stamp) in my mailbox from Majlis Perbandaran Sepang. I wonder why MPS dropped an unsealed letter into my mailbox?

The letter heading: Notis Pindaan Senarai Nilaian (Seksyen 144). It says my property now assessed on nilai tahunan as RM4,920 and from July 2012 onwards I have to pay cukai tahunan of RM361.62!!

My cukai pintu previously was RM53.20 a year with an assessment of nilai taksiran of RM1,330. That is an increase of 6x what I have to pay now! It said that because I have done renovation to my house, so the nilai hartanah had increased. My God, I only extend the back yard and I do not even extend the upper floor. It is an intermediate unit and suddenly my property become Bungalow!!

What a shocking surprise and I wonder you all got the same letter because most of us do extend the back yard. Please comment if you do receive the same letter. I am going to call MPS tommorow to find out what the hell they are trying to do?
